Description:
The aim of this project was to use a section of hospital windows as a photographic gallery space. Seven windows were used for the project, and were those which faced a busy public road. The idea was to transform the view of the building from the busy road into a more visually pleasing area. As a photographer, I have produced photographic images of the hills and lakes in Cumbria which patients and staff in the hospital had suggested as their favourite places. Two landscape images of the Lake District were selected by the members of the project committee. I then made the images available for the windows. The view of the windows is now showing the magnificent yet peaceful landscapes of the Lake District. Many people who use the area have commented that the view is much improved, and offers a more calming atmosphere.
