Abstract:
The methods for cost-reduction of photoelectrochemical solar cells were discussed. It was stated that the manufacturing cost could be reduced in this devices by the substitution of the liquid electrolytes by solid states analogues. It facilitate the development of reduced cost flexible cells based on polymer substrates, which could be produced without the requirement for high temperature sintering heat treatment. It was found that the conversion efficiency of these PEO electrolyte cells increases with increase in illumination intensity and duration, with corresponding increase in cell operating temperature and ionic mobility of the redox species within the PEO electrolyte.
