Abstract:
Generating environmentally-friendly electricity directly from sunlight has gone a long way. The latest research into generating solar electricity is replacing complex, expensive solar cells reliant on semiconductor technology in favor of `dye sensitized' cells built on toothpaste. This `dye sensitized' ceramic is based on titanium dioxide (toothpaste). The dye sensitized ceramic solar cell offers the realistic prospect of truly affordable `clean' electricity.
